Background
The European Documentation Centre at TKU, which was the first of its kind in Taiwan, opened in 1979. TKU and the European Community signed an agreement which accorded TKU the status of a European Documentation Centre (EDC). This agreement acknowledged the successful application for recognition by the European Commission made by the Tamkang Graduate Institute of European Studies.
In September 2006, European Documentation Centre (EDC) was replaced by European Info Centre (EUi).
History

•In September 2000, the “EU Documentation Centre” was established on the 5th floor of the Main Library.
•In September 2006, the “EU Documentation Centre” was renamed to “EU Information Centre”,becoming Taiwan’s first EU Information Centre.
•From May 2009 until present, we have been organizing annual EU Week book exhibitions and TKUL European Lectures.
Objectives
Our library’s EU Information Centre has signed a depository library agreement with the European Commission, with the obligation to promote EU knowledge and related developments. In addition to providing various EU materials, we aim to promote European studies in Taiwan and help readers gain a deeper understanding of EU development and operations.
